Food and digestive health is an integral part of rejuvenation at Yoga Kshema Ayurveda Center. Dining here is a complete sensory experience and dwells on the basic tenets of Ayurvedic nutrition – light and easy to digest wholesome Sattvic food that is appropriate for one’s individual body constitution or Dosha. The cuisine is designed on a diet high in ‘ Prana ’ (the universal life force) – natural foods, freshly picked and organically cultivated in our own gardens. At the Yoga Kshema Ayurveda Center, our chefs work in tandem with the doctors and therapists and rustle up deliciously soulful fare that meet the guests’ natural doshic inclinations.
Special personalized menus are created in consultation with the doctors and in accordance with the therapy or treatment of each guest. Every dish is a sensory indulgence and as prescribed in Ayurveda, satiates each of the five senses. The presence of an expert at the restaurant, to guide nutritional requirements gives you a deeper insight into eating right as a way of life.
Ayurveda’s exhaustive classification of food identifies various attributes and inherent properties of different foods and its proportions and effects on different body constitutions and healing processes. Be it the six rasas, gunas or classification based on its effect on the mind and spirit (Sattvic, Rajasic and Tamasic food), food and digestion is at the heart of Ayurveda. The Ayurveda food box while seemingly layered is beautifully simple and the right diet is an essential ingredient in the recipe towards attaining equilibrium of the mind and body.
